Strains of organisms used for Vaccine Production
Pathognomic signs of different diseases
1. Cytomegalovirus infection - Owl's eye appearance of inclusion bodies.
2. Lyme Disease - Erythema chronicum migrans.
3. Inclusion body myositis - Filamentous material seen in inclusion bodies under electron microscopy.
4. Hypocalcemia (tetany) - Trousseau sign and Chovstek sign.
5. Tetanus - Risus sardonicus.
6. Chipmunk facies - (parotid gland swelling) (Chipmunk facies is also seen in marrow expansion, secondary to Beta Thalassemia Major).
7. Leprosy - Leonine facies (thickened lion-like facial skin).
8. Measles - Koplik's spots.
9. Diphtheria - Pseudomembrane on tonsils, pharynx and nasal cavity.
10. Severe hemorrhagic pancreatitis - Grey-Turner's sign (discoloration in flank area) n Cullen's sign ( discoloration in paraumbilical region)
11. Cholera - Rice watery stool
12. Enteric fever - Rose spots in abdomen
14. Meningitis - Kernig's sign and Brudzinski's sign.
15. Cholecystitis - Murphy's sign (pain on deep inspiration when inflamed gallbladder is palpated).
16. Angina pectoris - Levine's sign (hand clutching of chest).
17. Patent ductus arteriosus - Machine like murmur.
18. Pleural Effusion - Stony dull percussion.
19. Parkinson's disease - Pill rolling tremors.
20. Whipple's disease - Oculo-Masticatory Myorhythmia.
21. Acute Myeloid Leukemia - Auer rod.
22. Multiple Sclerosis - Bilateral internuclear ophthalmoplegia.
23. Congestive heart failure - Third heart sound.
24. Pericarditis - Pericardial friction rub.
25. Neurofibromatosis I - Plexiform neurofibroma.
26. Hodgkin's lymphoma - Pain within minutes after drinking alcohol n RS cells (giant mono and multi nucleated cells).
27. Pyelonephritis - White blood cell casts.
28. Rheumatic fever - Aschoff nodules.
29. Rabies - Hydrophobia and Negri bodies.
